Itac maintains antidumping duties on clear float glass imported from Egypt
The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (Itac) has maintained antidumping duties on clear float glass at 27.26%.
Itac conducted a sunset review of the antidumping duties on clear float glass imported from Egypt. The investigation was initiated following an application by PFG Building Glass, a division of PG Group.
Clear float glass is sold in its existing form to glass merchants for general end-use applications, such as residential glazing, architectural glazing (industrial and commercial), automotive and furniture manufacturing.
After considering comments from interested parties, the commission made a final determination that the expiry of the antidumping duties on the subject products imported from Egypt, would likely lead to the recurrence of dumping and material injury and, therefore, decided to recommend to Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Parks Tau that the current antidumping duties on clear float glass of a thickness of 2.5 mm or more but not exceeding 6 mm, divided into 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm thicknesses, be maintained at 27.26%.
